Lisa Ellis, Former General Manager for Sony Urban Music
An accomplished music and entertainment executive, Lisa Ellis formerly served as Executive Vice President, Sony Music Label Group. Prior to that, She held the post of President and General Manager of the Sony Urban Music label. She joined Sony Music Entertainment in 1995 and worked in all aspects of daily operations for Sony Music Label Group, which comprises both Epic Records and Columbia Records. During her tenure as Executive Vice President with Sony Music Entertainment from 2006 to 2009, entertainment manager Lisa Ellis was ranked No. 8 in Billboard magazine’s Most Influential Women In Music and listed in Fast Company magazine’s 100 Most Creative People In Business.
Currently a principle partner with Box Three Eight Eight Management, Lisa Ellis invests in small companies in the technology, media, and consumer product sectors. A founding Operating Partner with Fireman Capital Partners, she spent several years consulting for small companies and helping them grow their brand from the early stages of business development. In her free time, Ms. Ellis volunteers with Save the Children in the United States and Haiti. Her philanthropic pursuits also included Advisory Board posts of Lalela Project, and Global Kids USA.
